Clear Correct

What is Clear Correct?

Lots of people have crooked teeth — about 300 million! Thankfully, there’s an easy solution. At Rominger Family Dental, we offer clear correct to straighten teeth without brackets and wires. Many times, these clear aligners work effectively and efficiently without people ever knowing that one is wearing them.

Clear correct is a great option for those wanting to avoid the hassle, discomfort, and time commitment of traditional metal braces. This highly effective treatment uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners and offers beautiful results.

Why Clear Correct?

For many people, their smile is one of the most important aspects of their overall appearance. At Rominger Family Dentistry, we understand why people desire straight, even teeth. From a dental standpoint, the function, esthetics, and health of the teeth are all better when the teeth are in proper alignment.

When one has crowded teeth, it can be much more difficult for them to clean their teeth properly because bacteria and a plaque biofilm can accumulate on the teeth. Straight teeth are much easier to clean as there are fewer difficult to reach places.

How often would I have to wear the clear aligners?

The duration of treatment varies widely from patient to patient. For some patients, their case only takes three months. Whereas, for others, their case may take up to one year or longer. We strongly encourage all of our Clear Correct patients to wear their trays 22 hours per day for full benefits of the treatment. This means that the trays only come out when one is eating or drinking.

Can Clear Correct work for any case?

Clear Correct works for a vast majority of orthodontic cases, but not all cases. If there is a significant overbite, underbite, or cross-bite, clear aligners may not be the proper treatment. However, clear aligners have advanced tremendously in the last decade and can treat a wide variety of problems.

If you are interested in Clear Correct and are unsure if your case may be too advanced or not, please contact our office and we can quickly determine whether or not you may be a good candidate for Clear Correct!

I am interested. How do I get started?

First, contact our office. Before beginning treatment, we need to take care of any pathology such as infections, decay, or periodontal disease. However, once these issues are addressed, we begin by taking a radiograph of the entire mouth, making impressions, capturing the patient’s bite, and taking photos. All of this can be done in less than 45 minutes, and is called the orthodontics records appointment.

As an aside, our office recently purchased an intraoral scanner, so the impressions can now be done via scanning rather than the old, nasty impression material. This is exciting for many patients and significantly more comfortable than having to sit there with a bunch of impression material in your mouth. Please let our office know if you are interested in Clear Correct!
